Peter Franus has made wines in Napa Valley for over twenty-five years. Philosophically and stylistically, he relies on intuition and a minimalist approach to winemaking. He believes that the more you manipulate and hover over a wine, the greater the likelihood you will diminish its personality. After eating and drinking with him over the course of many years, we felt confident he had an excellent sense of what we were looking for in our own wine.

2008 Grassi Cabernet Sauvignon.
We are excited to announce the release of our fourth vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon, from our four acre Estate Vineyard on Soda Canyon road. James Laube from the Wine Spectator rated the 2008 with 92pts and featured the wine in the September issue Insider Report. The 2008 Grassi Cabernet offers generous amounts of fruit and maintains a full presence on the palate. The layered aromatic profile starts with ripe blackberry and currents and is highlighted with both spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg as well as a violet floral component. The palate has an elegant entry and offers a great weight and full mouthfeel. The wine finishes with round tannins, but the fruit persists long after the sip is complete. Drink now until 2022.
